How to batch convert HEIC to JPG
- Click Choose a folder to add every photo in a folder, or drop or choose files.
- Optional: set a name pattern and quality before adding the files.
- The photos are converted one after another. The bar shows the progress and the total size.
- Click Download all as ZIP when it is done.
Name patterns
The pattern decides the name of each JPG. The extension .jpg is added for you.
| Pattern | Result for IMG_4021.HEIC, 3rd file |
|---|---|
| {name} | IMG_4021.jpg |
| holiday-{n} | holiday-003.jpg |
| {name}-{w}x{h} | IMG_4021-4032x3024.jpg |
| trip-{n}-{name} | trip-003-IMG_4021.jpg |
{n} is padded with zeros so the files sort in the right order. If two files end up with the same name, a number is added to the second one.
Speed and limits
The conversion happens on your device, so the speed depends on your computer. A modern laptop converts a 12 megapixel photo in about one to two seconds in Chrome or Edge, and faster in Safari. Photos are converted one at a time to keep memory use low. On a phone, batches of 20 to 30 work best. If you have more than 100 photos, download the ZIP, click Clear and add the next batch.
Getting photos off the iPhone first
- Windows: connect the iPhone with a cable, open This PC and copy the photos from DCIM. If the iPhone is set to Automatic under Transfer to Mac or PC, it may already convert them to JPG.
- Mac: use Image Capture or Photos, then choose the files here.
- iCloud: download the photos from iCloud.com, using Unmodified Original if you want the HEIC files.
