How the countdown works
Choose a date, or pick a holiday from the list. The tool compares it with today's date on your device and shows the number of days left, the number of weeks and days, the weekday of the event and the weekdays still to go. Below that, a live clock counts down to midnight at the start of the event day.
Days until and the countdown clock
The number of days is a calendar count. On 1 December, 25 December is 24 days away. The clock counts the time that is really left, so late in the day it shows one day fewer than the calendar count, because the current day is nearly over. Both are right, and they answer different questions.
Holiday presets
The presets are for holidays that fall on the same date every year: Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, Halloween and UAE National Day. The tool picks the next one that has not passed. For holidays that move, such as Easter, Thanksgiving or the dates of Ramadan and Eid, choose your own date.

If the date has passed
For a date in the past the tool shows how many days ago it was. For a longer view with milestones, use days since.
Weekdays left
The weekday count includes Monday to Friday between today and the event day, without holidays. To skip holidays or use another weekend, use the business days calculator.
