Flip, rotate and mirror
- Flip horizontally swaps the left and the right side, like looking in a mirror.
- Flip vertically swaps the top and the bottom, like a reflection in still water.
- Rotate turns the picture without mirroring it. Use the image rotator for that.
How to flip an image
- Drop one or more images on the box.
- Select Flip horizontal or Flip vertical. Use both for a half turn.
- Choose the format, then download the image or a ZIP of all of them.
Why flip a picture
- To reverse a selfie that your phone mirrored or did not mirror.
- To make a subject face the other way in a layout.
- To check a composition or a drawing with fresh eyes, since a mirrored picture makes mistakes easier to see.
- To mirror a picture before printing on a transfer sheet, so that it reads correctly after it is ironed on.
Text becomes backwards
Any text in a flipped picture reads backwards. If a picture just looks upside down and the text reads correctly when you turn the page, you need a rotation, not a flip. See rotate 180 degrees.
