How to batch convert JPG to PNG
- Click Choose a folder to add every image in a folder, or drop or choose files.
- Optional: set a name pattern before adding the files.
- The images are converted one after another. The bar shows the progress and the total size.
- Click Download all as ZIP when it is done.
Name patterns
The pattern decides the name of each PNG. The extension .png is added for you.
| Pattern | Result for IMG_2041.jpg, 3rd file |
|---|---|
| {name} | IMG_2041.png |
| product-{n} | product-003.png |
| {name}-{w}x{h} | IMG_2041-4032x3024.png |
| holiday-{n}-{name} | holiday-003-IMG_2041.png |
{n} is padded with zeros so the files sort in the right order. If two files end up with the same name, a number is added to the second one.
Limits and speed
Everything runs on your device, so speed depends on your computer or phone. A laptop converts a typical phone photo in under a second. The images are converted one at a time to keep memory use low, which lets the browser handle large batches. On a phone, batches of 30 to 50 photos work best. Up to 200 files can be added at once, and you can add more after downloading the ZIP and clicking Clear.
Plan for the ZIP size
PNG photos are much larger than JPG, so 200 phone photos can make a ZIP of several gigabytes. To keep it small, use convert JPG to PNG with options and set a maximum size, or consider bulk JPG to WebP if the images are for a website.
